Zero-Tolerance Drug & Alcohol Policy

Arizona Regulatory Compliance

Alba Transport operates in full compliance with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Vehicle for Hire regulations and all applicable Arizona Revised Statutes governing transportation network companies and for-hire vehicles.

All drivers are required to comply with A.R.S. § 28-9507(C)–(E), which prohibits Vehicle for Hire drivers from operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs, requires immediate termination upon a positive test, and mandates that operators maintain and enforce a written zero-tolerance policy.

Driver Prohibitions

The following are strictly prohibited for all Alba Transport drivers at all times while on duty or operating a company vehicle:

• Operating any vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, prescription drugs, or any controlled substance
• Consuming alcohol or any intoxicating substance within eight (8) hours before a scheduled shift or while on duty
• Possessing open containers of alcohol in any company or client vehicle
• Using, possessing, or being impaired by any illegal drug or controlled substance
• Accepting a ride request while impaired in any manner

Pre-Employment & Ongoing Screening

All Alba Transport drivers undergo comprehensive background screening prior to employment, which includes drug and alcohol testing. Drivers are subject to random, reasonable-suspicion, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing throughout their tenure.

Any driver who tests positive, refuses to submit to testing, or attempts to tamper with a test is immediately disqualified from service.

Passenger Rights & Reporting

Passengers have the right to a safe, sober driver at all times. If you have reason to believe your driver is impaired:

• Ask the driver to pull over safely and exit the vehicle immediately
• Call 911 if you believe there is an immediate safety risk
• Report the incident to Alba Transport immediately using the contact information below

All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly. Drivers found in violation are permanently removed from service.

Consequences of Violation

Any driver found to be in violation of this policy will face the following consequences without exception:

• Immediate suspension from all driving duties pending investigation
• Permanent termination of employment or contractor relationship
• Reporting to appropriate Arizona state regulatory authorities
• Cooperation with law enforcement as required by law

Effective Date & Policy Review

This policy is effective immediately and applies to all Alba Transport drivers, contractors, and affiliated operators. This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in Arizona law or regulatory requirements.
